Reference Project: Luxury Hotel, Udaipur
Project profile from QUA, the membrane manufacturer. It is a QUA reference installation.
Existing STP capacity: 8.3 m³/hr (36.7 gpm). Challenges: the hotel could not recycle water through its conventional treatment, could not use the STP discharge and needed high-quality water, and had very limited space for an upgrade.
Solution: a QUA EnviQ 440 XL submerged MBR, chosen against flux, footprint, capital investment and operating cost criteria. The plant scheme was: sewage collection tank, fine screen, anoxic tank, aeration tank, EnviQ 440 XL submerged MBR, MBR product water tank, then the hotel's utility use.
Result: the system has met the hotel's requirements since 2021, with stable water chemistry and permeate flow holding at 10–12 m³/hr.
Applications
- Hotels, resorts and residential complexes that reuse treated water
- Upgrading an existing STP on a small footprint
- STP and ETP plants that need ultrafiltration-quality effluent

Frequently Asked Questions — Quamem MBR Membrane
Does QuaSys Inc. supply Quamem MBR membranes?+
Yes. QuaSys Inc. supplies Quamem MBR membranes (QUA EnviQ submerged flat sheet MBR) across India with sizing support and technical documentation. Call +91 95408 15659.
What is the Quamem MBR membrane made of?+
Quamem EnviQ uses a PVDF flat sheet membrane with a pore size of 0.04 micron, together with a proprietary diffuser system for air scouring.
What does the EnviQ 440 XL deliver?+
The EnviQ 440 XL has 440 m2 of active membrane area and, in the reference design, runs at a permeate flux of 22.7 LMH to give 10-12 m3/hr of product flow, with a required MLSS of 3,000-8,000 mg/L and an air flow of 110 Nm3/hr.
Where is a Quamem (QUA) MBR already running?+
A luxury hotel in Udaipur, India has used a QUA EnviQ 440 XL submerged MBR since 2021, with permeate flow holding steady at 10-12 m3/hr. This is a QUA reference project.
What is the difference between Grafil and Quamem MBR?+
Grafil is a hollow fibre membrane made from PolyNorbit. Quamem EnviQ is a PVDF flat sheet membrane. The better choice depends on your wastewater, footprint and cleaning approach. Share your STP details and we will recommend one.
What information do you need to quote a Quamem MBR membrane?+
Plant capacity in KLD, type of wastewater, peak flow, MLSS design, temperature and existing tank sizes. QuaSys Inc. does not publish fixed prices online; we send a specification-based quote.
