How Twin Lobe and Tri Lobe Blowers Work

Twin lobe and tri lobe blowers are positive displacement machines that deliver a constant volume of air regardless of system back pressure. In a twin lobe design, two figure-8 shaped lobes rotate in opposite directions inside a precision-machined housing, trapping air at the inlet and pushing it to the outlet without internal compression. A tri lobe blower adds a third lobe, which reduces pressure pulsation, giving smoother airflow, lower noise, and reduced vibration compared to an equivalent twin lobe unit.
