Twin Lobe (Roots) Blower

The original and still most common positive displacement blower design. Two figure-8 lobes rotate in opposite directions, delivering constant volumetric flow regardless of back pressure. Simple, robust, and the lowest upfront cost of the three.

  • Best for: Small-to-mid capacity STP/ETP aeration, general-purpose pneumatic conveying
  • Pressure range: Up to ~1 kg/cm²
  • Noise: 80–95 dB(A) — needs acoustic enclosure in most settings
  • Efficiency: Moderate, drops off somewhat at partial load

Tri Lobe Blower

A refinement of the twin-lobe design with three lobes instead of two. The extra lobe reduces pressure pulsation, which lowers noise and vibration and gives smoother airflow — useful in installations where vibration-sensitive equipment or tighter noise limits are a concern.

  • Best for: Same applications as twin-lobe, but where lower noise/vibration matters
  • Pressure range: Similar to twin-lobe, up to ~1 kg/cm²
  • Noise: Typically 3–5 dB(A) quieter than an equivalent twin-lobe unit
  • Cost: Slightly higher than twin-lobe for the same capacity

Turbo Blower (High-Speed Centrifugal)

A completely different technology — a high-speed centrifugal impeller, often magnetic-bearing or air-bearing supported, spinning at tens of thousands of RPM. No gears, no oil, and significantly higher efficiency at steady, high-volume flow.

  • Best for: Large STP/ETP installations running continuously above ~2,000–3,000 m³/hr
  • Pressure range: Comparable to lobe blowers, but far more efficient at delivering it
  • Noise: Notably quieter than lobe blowers, often below 75 dB(A) without enclosure
  • Efficiency: 20–30% lower power consumption at large, steady flows vs. lobe blowers
  • Cost: Highest upfront cost of the three, but often pays back through energy savings within 2–4 years at large scale
